Tampaksiring is a township in central Bali. It is the home to the Gunung Kawi Temple and the Senang Hati Foundation. 12. Klungkung

Visitors can reach Klungkung easily from Gianyar via the highway. KlungKung is very famous for its classic Balinese paintings which mostly depict the story of the epics like Mahabharata or Ramayana. 37. Pura Besakih

Pura Besakih popularly known as the “mother Temple of Bali, the shelter of Besakih on the slopes of Mt. Agung is the largest and the holiest of all Balinese temples. Almost over a thousand years old, steps ascend through split gates to the main courtyard where the Trinity shrines are wrapped in cloth and fully decorated with flower contributions. Around the three main temples dedicated to the Trinity: Shiva, Brahma and Wisnu, are 18 separate sanctuaries belonging to different regencies and caste groups. Balinese believes that a visit to the temples sanctuaries is a special pilgrimage. Each of these has its own anniversary celebration or popularly famous as “Odalan”. The sight of the temple against the background of the mountain is impressive and during festivals, coloured banners add a touch of gaiety.

38. Gianyar

Gianyar was once the capital of one of Bali’s more powerful kingdoms, the town of Gianyar is currently a centre of the textile industry. The specialty of this place of Bali is the ikat weaving the Balinese use in traditional wear. A number of factories hold informal tours. The large textile industry of Gianyar is very famous among tourist.

39. Pura Kehen

The city of Pura Kehen is very popular for its temples. Pura Kehen is the religious heart of Bangli’s many temples. One of the largest religious complexes in Bali, its origins can be traced back to the beginning of the eleventh century. A huge banyan tree shades the first courtyard. Although it is a small but a very popular tourist place. Mostly tourist visit here to perform religious activities.

40. Lovina Beach

Lovina Beach is one of the popular beaches in Bali. It is considered as a calm and peaceful tourist place west of Singaraja on the northern coast. This beach is surely a treat for visitors who are looking for relaxation because it actually a relaxed and hassle-free area. The beaches are of black volcanic sand and a reef keeps any surf at bay. Visitors can dive and snorkeling in the mirror smooth seas, and the dolphins that often race with the tour boats. The beach area consists of several small villages that seem to start where the last one finished, although they are all spread quite thinly along the long beach strip.

41. Tegal Besar Beach

Tegal Besar Beach is to be found in KlungKung regency quite near to BanjarangKan village. Although it is not a very popular beach like Sanur and Kuta, but is indeed a very beautiful beach. On this beach you can find black sands are a particular characteristic to this beach. Because of its beauty and natural atmosphere, the beach lures visitors to come there. Several fishing boats stationed here add to the beauty of the scenery. When you look westward from the beach, another beach is visible, the Lebih village beach belonging to the regency of Gianyar, with Nusa Penida island to the south Klungkungs beach is now under development and will soon be available for tourists. You can also find small stalls preparing serve customers. In the morning fishermen go out to sea to catch fish.

42. Candi Dasa Beach

On the edge of the sea you will find Candidasa which is the name of a temple complex. Located at the foot of Mount Agung, the white sandy beach of the temple is only visible when the tide is out but the grassy foreshore and beach are great places to catch the sun. This beach which is started in the early 1980s, also called Candidasa became the developing tourist destination and started attracting a large number of visitors, though it still offers an escape from the hassles of the more populated tourist areas. Candi Dasa is an excellent base for daytrips around Eastern Bali. Tenganan, Goa Lawah, Amlapura and Padangbai are all within easy reach. It is also considered as one of the most romantic beaches of Bali. It also offers good diving and a little further afield at Tulamben, where a US ship sunk during World War-II and may be viewed in its underwater resting-place. 43. Seminyak

Seminyak is one of the romantic beaches in Bali. People, who would like to stay at high-end area, Seminyak could be your best option. As a beach town, Seminyak is better and prestigious than Kuta and Legian. Here, you will also get the chance to explore Petitenget Temple, which stands at Petitenget Beach. 44. Canggu

Canggu is a very popular beach which was previously famous with the name Batu Mejan. Bali has many romantic destinations for honeymooners. Echo Beach is considered one of them. Then, the name has changed since Echo Beach Restaurant and Villa Echo Beach run the business at here. The other alternative beach which is also well known is Brawa in Canggu. This beach is not as crowded as Kuta or Sanur. Further more, the wave at Brawa Beach is good enough for those who are interested in surfers. A visit to the Canggu beach is worth and recommendable. Canggu, a less popular beach is famous for relaxing with the entire family.

45. Denpasar

It is the capital of Bali that has a number of cultural and historical sites. It has uncountable community temples called Pura and one of them is Pura Jaganatha that is committed to the Supreme God of Hindus called Sang Hyang Widi Wasa. In this city the statue of a turtle and two dragons is prevalent in all temples as according Hinduism practiced in Bali it signifies the foundation of the world. While on the other hand, Pura Jaganatha features a fine collection of prehistoric and modern art, while the architectural design resembles that of a palace.

46. Restaurants and food centers

Rimo, Robinsons, Matahari, Tiara and Libi department stores, as well as Sudirman Mall, cater to all the needs of tourists and local customers, all at fixed prices. For food lovers, the south of Denpasar presents a complete range of restaurants. 49. Wayang Kulit

It is an ancient art of shadow play called as Wayang Kulit. It is an exceptional combination of ritual, lesson and entertainment. In this art shadow images are projected on a taunt linen screen, on the back of which an oil lamp or a light bulb is lit. The shadow (Dalang) artist controls the figures, which are carved out of leather and bring the shadows to life. Dalang narrates the story accompanied by a gamelan orchestra and frequent chanting or singing.

50. What to buy in Bali?

If you are confused as what to buy is Bali then visiting batik and silk cloth is very famous and is sold all over Denpasar, Bali. These bright sheets of cloth are as beautiful as well as very cheap and affordable also. Made of pure cotton with glorious patterns, Balinese batik is surely a must buy. Occasionally batik cloth is made into wearable clothing such as a skirt or men’s shirts. The famous jewelry district is in a village called Celuk which is only 30 minutes away from Kuta, here tourists can find rows and rows of silversmiths’ and goldsmiths’ shops selling jewellery at affordable prices.
